At a Glance: Google+ The World
Google’s social networking platform, Google+, is violently growing, gracing the 62,000,000 user mark just about a month ago. Estimates have shown that amount is looking to grow by thousand brand new users daily. Paul Allen, founder of Ancestry.com, writes about reasons for the violent growth, “It may be the holidays, the TV commercials, the Android 4 signups, celebrity and brand appeal, or positive word of mouth or a combination of all these factors, but there is no question that the number of new users signing up for Google+ each day has accelerated markedly in the past several weeks.” Though they have yet to top their week end high of 15,000,000 hits on September 24, they are getting closer and closer, hitting 9.4 million at the end of the week of December 17. Continuing with this upward slope, the number of ”Google+ers”is expected to hit 100 million toward the close of February, 200 million by the beginning of August, and then almost 300 million by the end of 2012.
